Nine Pillars of Transformation

Every programme is designed for lasting impact — investing in people, skills, and systems that keep growing long after we leave the room.

Agricultural Value Addition & Farmer Development

Kassanda's farmers work some of Uganda's most fertile land — yet most sell raw produce at farm-gate prices. The Foundation changes this by providing tools, certified seeds, and quality inputs directly; training in modern techniques; and building market and export pathways.

Tools & Inputs Provision

Quality hoes, pangas, sprayers, fertilisers, pesticides, and soil amendments distributed to registered farmer groups at seasonal camps.

Certified Seeds

Improved varieties of maize, beans, cassava, groundnuts, coffee seedlings, and cocoa planting materials from certified suppliers.

Market Linkage

Direct supply agreements with schools, hospitals, supermarkets, and food processors. Weekly price bulletins via WhatsApp.

Export Pathway

4-stage export programme for coffee & cocoa. UCDA and UEPB partnerships. Target: 2 groups with export contracts by 2028.

SACCOs & Financial Inclusion

A three-tier financial inclusion model that reaches every village in Kassanda District with organised savings, credit, and collective investment.

01

Village VSCA

Tier 1 · Foundation

Every village gets a Village Savings & Credit Association with a dedicated Foundation Volunteer who facilitates meetings, maintains the passbook, and reports monthly to the Parish SACCO chairperson.

02

Parish SACCO
Tier 2 · Aggregator

All village associations subscribe here. Governed by appointed Chair and elected representatives from member VSCAs. Provides credit to individual members. Monthly reporting to Sub-County SACCO.

03

Sub-County SACCO

Tier 3 · Apex

Receives subscriptions from all Parish SACCOs. Provides large credit facilities. Governs with the Sub-County Local Council partnership. Issues loans to Kassanda Lions graduates (36-month max, lowest available rate).

UGX 50,000–200,000 direct grants to elderly community members, women, and youth who are already trading in consumables, vegetables, and small goods in Kassanda's markets — and just need working capital to keep going.
